In the Press:
A Bangkok Apartment Decorated by Venetian Artist
Lips Magazine, March 2010 featured the works of Marchiori in Bangkok, Thailand
"The modern has to be accepted with the introduction of a playful whimsical metamorphosis. Various walls and ceilings can be painted in different shades of the same color in order to break rigidity and hardness. An antique piece can be introduced making sure that it accepts that inevitable strange roommate: the television set. It takes a bit of taste, sense of humor, choice of piece related to sentimental value or logic of association. It also requires balance, not too heavy here and not too empty there and a comfortable uncluttered path around the furniture." Carlo Marchiori

HOUSE & HOME/STYLE DESK | The New York Times September 06, 2001
UNDER silvery moonlight, the Doric temple in Carlo Marchiori's garden looks as if it were hewn from Carrara marble. Fluted columns pose heroically on a romantically crumbling foundation. Soaring above are elaborate friezes and fragments of traditional entablature. Theres even a broken pediment. All that's missing is the oracle. Mr. Marchiori, 61, a decorative artist in California, offers up an instant classical education in his villa and garden. His five-acre domain, which he calls Ca' Toga, sits on the banks of the Napa River in the rocky northern reaches of the Napa Valley. Passers-by can glimpse the richly colored villa across a vineyard. The fake architectural ruins surrounding it -- columns, statues and temples built out of construction-site castoffs, broken concrete sidewalks from town, scraps of wood and flea market find -- were fashioned primarily for the pleasure of creation.
